Meet LEGiT’s hot new style star, model Tshego Seakgoe. She’s most famous for appearing on the cover of Playboy South Africa in May 2011, making her the first black Playmate to be featured on the cover of the magazine. Born and raised in Meadowlands, Soweto, she grew up with a lifelong passion for the spotlight, appearing as a presenter on daytime kids channel KTV and singing at Nelson Mandela’s 80th birthday.

Encouraged by friends to go for the Playboy casting when she was just 20, she was first accepted as a Playmate and a week later received the call confirming that she was to be the cover star for the second edition of the South African magazine. Since then she’s been launched into a full time modelling career, featuring in shoots for magazines like Elle as well as in-house shoots. She describes herself as daring and indecisive and aside from modelling and music; she’s addicted to Twitter, loves living in the city and is even studying International Relations and Diplomacy through the University of South Africa (Unisa). We asked her a few questions about her style and being a part of the LEGiT range.

Describe your style.
I’d describe myself as very glamorous; my style of dress is mostly rocker. I’d say I’m like Kim Kardashian on a good day. 

Your favourite item from the range?
I love the blue hi low dress and printed denims, especially the tropical printed denims and the polka dot prints. I love the tribal printed pink wedges and Aztec print wedge heels.

Favourite local celeb?
Bonang Matheba, everyone in the industry looks up to her; it’s so cool to be following in her footsteps because she was named the first Face of LEGiT. It’s very exciting to be a part of that. Also Noni Gasa – the way she handles herself in the public eye, she’s such a classy celebrity.

Favourite international celeb?
Nicole Richie – I love how she can be very street smart and at the same time very glamorous.

Your favourite item in your wardrobe?
A denim vintage dress, from my mum. She wore it when she was my age and I love it – I wear it every week. My boots – I love boots for winter; I wear them all the time. When I find something I really love, I wear it really often and then I get over it and it ends up at the back of my wardrobe. I also like to be varied, to be unexpected, sometimes I’ll get dressed in the morning and be like ‘Who is this person?’ I really like mixing it up.

Which fashion trends are you loving this season?
White and gold – I can’t wait for summer so I can rock white and gold.
Printed pants – I love this style.
Crop tops – I’m bringing them in whether they’re in or not, I love crop tops, I wear them in winter, I wear them in summer, I have so many different styles. I love them.

Describe yourself in five words.
Daring, loving, indecisive (I change my mind all the time), adventurous and mysterious – I’m good at hiding my emotions.
