Paris is considered as the ultimate fashion destination, most sophisticated and chic of the style capitals and a marquee event on the runway calendar.
This year, it lived up to the billing, with chic, femme silhouettes, ethereal florals and sophisticated shapes prowling the catwalk in style.
Louis Vuitton's show was the unmistakable highlight of the week - the runway was arranged with models getting on and off escalators as they strolled down the runway. The designs themselves were the ultimate homage to retro feminine flair, with bold geometric blocks (infused with true contemporary touches of neon) in fitted, boxy tunics, skirts and boucle jackets, complete with 50s updos and kitten heels.
Prints dominated Paris this spring with draped, flowing silhouettes of midi dresses splashed with tropical patterns, watercolour prints and sweet spring florals.
Elie Saab's subtle pastel patterns turned heads in a dramatic show of silky fabrics and chiffon, with splashed bursts of colour mingling on every design in a mix of soft pastel shades and jewelled brights, perfectly encapsulating the essence of the week's dominant trends.
