With Lira’s third Sony Music album (Return To Love) released in January, and now the promise of a deluxe-edition repackage, including DVD with music videos, out on 5 September, 2011 is turning out to be one of her biggest and busiest years yet.
She’s just returned from a European tour that saw her winging her way between London and Stuttgart, and a few spots on the way. LEGiT caught up with her slap-bang in the middle of her overseas experience, to find out what fashion items and accessories make it into her 23-kg baggage limit, and what she wears everywhere… even on board a long haul flight half way round the world.
Lira’s favourite fashion item?
‘On stage I like my tailor-made skirts and dresses which are colourful and flowing and allow me to play with my clothes as a form of expression.’
That one item she wears almost every day? ‘On every other day I love wearing a pair of well-fitted jeans. I like simple colourful T-shirts and fitted jackets with my jeans and killer shoes.’
Her style philosophy? ‘Wear something comfortable that brings out your best features.’
Her favourite fashion icons? ‘Josephine Baker and Halle Berry’
