Tatum Keshwar is a beautiful example of what’s possible if you work hard. Besides holding a degree in psychology, she’s been responsible for making South Africans very proud over the past few years. Not only did she take the Miss SA crown in 2008, Tatum went on to represent her country at the 2009 Miss Universe pageant too. As a proud Durbanite, finding time to head home is something she always looks forward to, even if it’s only to unpack her wardrobe. LEGiT hooked up with her to find out what makes a model like her super.
Describe your personal style: My personal style is classic-sexy-chic.
What’s your number one tip for on-trend style: Never copy and paste a trend. Instead, take from a trend what suits you and your body shape and personalise it to make it your own.
What’s your favourite occasion to dress up for: I love getting dressed up for Fashion Week. Regardless of which fashion week in the world it is, I always wear something South African to showcase the talent our country has!
We know it's a little early, but what will be your number one spring 2012 essential: A gorgeous pair of Cat Eye sunglasses.
Heels or flip-flops: Heels or a beautiful pair of wedges, which are so on-trend at the moment!
What is your most treasured fashion item: A killer pair of heels. Shoes can make or break an outfit.
Do you have an item in the back of your wardrobe that you’ll never wear: I have this pair of Louboutins that are so ridiculously high; I will probably never wear them! But I do take them out every now and then and prance around the house in them!
What are your first-date wardrobe staples: A hugging dress, just above the knee, with a great pair of heels and trendy accessories and a little jacket and clutch. I like wearing something fitted so that I feel confident and sexy, without showing too much skin.
