The LEGiT team simply loves to window-shop. We even like to street-style shop, you know you do it; ‘pick’ the items of clothing off the strangers walking past you in the street and stick them in your fantasy wardrobe. We also like to Pinterest shop, but one of our favourite pastimes is to TV shop, yes, we like to choose the outfits off the characters of our favourite TV series and envision ourselves in those gorgeous garments.
Since Sex and the City hit our TV screens, it’s not uncommon for stylistas to sit in front of their TV sets just to watch a show because of its fabulous fashion. We picked our top styling shows and the trends they created:

Gossip Girl is every modern girl's style inspiration, with fabulously glamorous garments showcased in a number of different ways, ranging from High Street bohemian to preppy chic.
Gossip Girl
The ‘younger’ version of Sex and the City introduced us to those Upper East-Side hotties Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf, we’ll always be thankful for the style inspiration that was handed to us by the fashion forward cast. Where would we be today if Blair had not walked onto our TV screens in her classic, preppy, no-nonsense outfits and statement Alice-bands? What’s great about Gossip Girl is that each character has their own style, from Little J’s high-street grunge looks to Serena’s boho-chic get-ups; everyone has their fave character’s wardrobe that they’d die to replicate.

Downton Abbey is a stylish, nostalgic throwback to British high life in the 1920s. The ultra femme, classic and soft style is a gorgeous tribute to our more delicate sides.
Downton Abbey
This British series has introduced us to how the 1920s British upper-class lived, acted and what they wore. Now we want to go back in time - really, really badly! From the empire waistlines and midi skirts to all the gorgeous accessories (those beautiful hats!), we can’t get enough of the Lords and Ladies of Downton Abbey. And what’s fabulous is that recent trends replicate many of the wardrobes on the show. From elegant lace dresses to waist-hugging jackets and pleated midi skirts, fashionistas are adopting adapted versions of these period items and we simply love it!

Mad Men is a style guide for classy, sexy outfits that are as elegant as they are sultry.
Mad Men
Oh those sexy figure hugging silhouettes of the late 1950s, can you say va-va-voom! Sigh, women weren’t afraid to emphasise their curves – and the classy girls of Mad Men make that clear to us with their cinched-at-the-waist dresses and the tight calf-length pencil skirts – elegant and sexy at the same time!
