Summer is on its way and LEGiT girls are all saying "Don't Tell Me What To Wear". This season, we've revamped and updated our LEGiT style to something even more fashion forward and we're embracing the spirit of sass, independence and confidence. That's exactly what our second brand ambassador, Refilwe Modiselle, has in spades. How do you feel about being appointed one of LEGiT's brand ambassadors?
I'm honoured to be a part of a legacy with amazing woman who have been a part of this brand and range that I'm so proud of.
Describe your style sense?
I'm ultra-chic and sassy. I'm not trend crazy, but I will keep up to speed with what’s current. I love chic and timeless fashion with an individual touch.
Who are your fashion icons?
Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Victoria Beckham, Rihanna and Gwen Stefani. Locally, it would have to be Generations actress Zenande Mfenyana.
Who is your greatest inspiration, for style or life in general?
My mom's influenced my sense of style, I draw inspiration from her. But other than that, no one - I wear what I feel represents me and what I'm about.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
To always be myself and stay real, hold my head up high and do the best that I can with what God's given me. Be humble and never change who you're meant to be for others.
What is your advice for girls who want to become models?
Know exactly why you want to do it because it’s not as glamorous as the perception perpetuated. Have a vision of where you want to take it, look at yourself brutally and see if you have the strength to be a part of a cut-throat industry where you won’t always make the cut. Do your research and understand what you're getting into.
How would you describe your personality?
Bubbly, real, full of life, loving, very strong, humble, free spirited and the voice of reason at times.
What do you think of the Don’t Tell Me What To Wear campaign?
I think it’s phenomenal, bold, feisty and makes a mark in terms of being defiant of what has been typically done for most fashion brands. I'm proud of this campaign.
What’s your favourite LEGiT item in the range?
High-heeled shoes in neon colours are a must-have. My favourite is the chiffon hi-low summer skirt in brights, pinks and yellows, with a cute crop top - love love love!
