On Tuesday evening, the LEGiT spring 2012 season was officially declared open, with a glamorous launch event at the Theatre on the Track at Kyalami.
Guests were welcomed with drinks and a red carpet dotted with the hottest celebs such as AKA. The event itself was concealed behind closed doors with anticipation building up to the big reveal. Once ushered into the large theatre room, the stage was impossible to miss, gleaming white in the middle of the room with a ramp stretching down the middle of the table. Surrounding it were elegant white tables, posters and television screens featuring LEGiT fashion mantras.
Host, Hulisani Ravele launched the show with a short introduction on LEGiT, followed by an update by head buyer Hazel (wearing a stunning metallic dress) on this season's range.
The ramp show started with a nostalgic look at the previous faces of LEGiT, who all strutted down the ramp in outfits from the latest range. Dolled up in neon make-up, glamorous hairstyles and hot LEGiT merchandise from the new spring collection, the showcase was a reminder of the strong, amazing women who have become a part of the LEGiT legacy. Then the ramp got a little dose of attitude with a performance by hot pop artist Toya Delazy and an energetic dance crew.

Then it was time to reveal the range, and who better to do it than the brand ambassador for the line, Tshego Seakgoe. Tshego strutted down the catwalk in a black body-con dress and glittery accessories, with the big screen playing the trailblazing Don't Tell Me What To Wear ad.
But, as had been mentioned, this year was truly different as the launch revealed not one, but two new faces showing off LEGiT style this season. South Africa's most accomplished albino model, Refilwe Modiselle, was revealed as the second brand ambassador for the summer range to join Tshego. The two hot new brand ambassadors walked down the runway together, showing off their Don't Tell Me What To Wear attitude in style.

The big reveal of the latest fashion was then followed with a runway show of items from the new range. Prints, neon and colour were the buzzwords for the fashion sashaying down the ramp. The line is full of on trend, sassy items in this season's hottest colours and patterns and the reaction from the crowd was overwhelming.
The show was followed by a performance by blazing hip hop artist AKA and a rocking set on the decks by DJ Zinhle as the guests danced and partied the night away, all under the season's hottest fashion motto: Don't Tell Me What To Wear.
